Mean Girls vs Super Girls

Heart.whiteIs there any wonder the following powerful video by singer Rachel Crow received … 11,286,394 views?!  Rachel obviously hit upon a topic most females can relate to and of which continues to impact girls, particularly during the middle school years.

Rebecca Ann Sedwick of Florida, Phoebe Prince of Massachusetts and Viviana Aguirre of Texas were bullied by girls to the point of suicide.  And these are just the ones who we’ve heard of via the media.  When any youth feels unsafe, humiliated and degraded they suffer devastating effects including: lower grades, low self-esteem and social withdrawal which frequently leads to depression, substance abuse and/or suicidal thoughts.

DaisiesThrough the highly successful Severson Sisters Super Girl Program, I endeavor to empower girls by providing self-esteem enhancing tools, tips on how to develop and maintain healthy relationships with their peers, and action plans on how to handle bullying situations in life that match their personality.  We’ll use creative opportunities as a powerful tool for helping girls build self-esteem, develop social skills to support healthy relationships and mitigate their need for a false sense of superiority through bullying tactics.

By the end of the 10-week program, we will have combed the bullies out of our hair, just like Rachel Crow!
